12 They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their ancestors, with all their heart and soul.13 All who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, were to be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman.14 They took an oath to the Lord with loud acclamation, with shouting and with trumpets and horns.15 All Judah rejoiced about the oath because they had sworn it wholeheartedly. They sought God eagerly, and he was found by them. So the Lord gave them rest on every side.
During the reign of Asa, king of Judah, the king and the people sought the Lord and saw tremendous victories. At one point an army of over a million two hundred thousand came against the armies of Judah and God defeated all of them. Over and over again God gave them peace as long as they sought Him first with all of their hearts and souls.
The principles don’t change. God wants our dependence upon Him. When soldiers go to battle they are not often going out dependent upon God. But whenever armies go out dependent upon God they see Him do what only He can do.
We face battles throughout our lives. When the enemies come against us whom do we trust? Whom do we look to for success? If we look anywhere but to the Lord we may or may not see victory. Only when we seek Him first and foremost by faith in His power and in submission to His wisdom will we find the peace that we desire.
If you are living without peace check to see who you are depending upon. Jesus Christ is the Prince of the kingdom of Peace. When He is where He wants to be in our lives He brings us His peace.
We are in Colorado now. Ben and Anna are really thrilled and we are having a great time with our whole family together. Yesterday we went to the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. On our way there Hadessah asked if there were alters there to false gods since there is only one God. We had a great time there hiking and playing on the rocks.
Thanks for your prayers for us. God is ever faithful.
