God desires to fully forgive

Psalm 32:1–5

   Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven,

whose sin is covered.

   Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity,

and in whose spirit there is no deceit.

   For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away

through my groaning all day long.

   For day and night your hand was heavy upon me;

my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. Selah

   I acknowledged my sin to you,

and I did not cover my iniquity;

I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”

and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah

What a blessed privilege we have to take our sin to God, confess them to Him (Who already knows what we have done) and find forgiveness of all iniquity.   David so understood this that he knew he was blessed by God for His forgiveness.

Notice here that forgiveness by God means that God will no longer count the sin to the one who has confessed it.  We do not hide behind deceit but open our hearts in full confession seeing our sin as God does.  We confess it to Him and He, from that point forward, will never bring it up again.  God forgives completely and fully.

In verse 5 we see the way to confess our sin.  We fully acknowledge it to God and we cover nothing from Him in our confession.  We don’t blame shift, like Adam did, we don’t hide our motive like Cain did.  God wants us to give Him full disclosure making ourselves look just as evil as we really are. When we fully confess our sin to God with all of its evil and all of our responsibility, God fully forgives the iniquity of our sin.

When we don’t confess our sin to God, verses 3-4 tell us that we have inward pains and loss of strength.  We groan in our guilt while withholding full confession.  Why would we keep back confession?  Why would we wait a day, a month, a week, a year, a lifetime to confess sin to God?  There is no reason to live in the pain of your sin or to go into depression because you can’t confess it to God.  When we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  Join David today and be a part of the confessing club who enjoys the full and compete forgiveness of the only One, God, that can make you whole.

Justin and Katelyn had their baby last night.  We thank God, who is the giver of all life, for Carson Edward Schroeder.

The service at Sunrise went well yesterday. I think I had ten people in the service. They are so grateful for the service and give so much love every week. I do wish some of you could share in these services. You are the one blessed in the end.

Tonight is our prayer time and Bible study . Pray for kids club and youth group that God will speak to the young people who come.

Have a great day in the Lord, PS
