Whom should the Church benefit? Isaiah 58

Posted on

This study of Isaiah is changing us, and it should. In this passage we read that God was not interested in religious activity that was for the benefit of those in attendance. God wants us to take our religious work outside the church and care for people in their time of need. As we care, we are to show the light of the Lord Jesus so men will see our good works and glorify our Father who is in heaven. Outreach needs to begin with good works. In this message Pastor Steve looks at Isaiah and Zechariah to show us that God has a different plan than just gathering to practice religion. He looks at Marx’s comment of comparing religion to opium and has some interesting insights into today’s church.
