19 “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. 20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
In this teaching of Jesus we find one major theme: Christ in us. With Christ in us we live. With Christ in us we know the Father. With Christ in us we have His commandments in us and keep them. With Christ in us we love Him. With Christ in us we are loved by the Father and by the Son who manifests Himself to us.
Here is the difference between all world religions and Bible Christianity: Christ in us. In no religious system does the leader of the system ever claim to live in his followers. No human religious leader ever could live in his followers so none could rationally make the claim. In religion you have to memorize facts and mantras so the teachings and the prayers are in you but you are still on your own to do it all and to make it all work. With Jesus in us, He brings His commands, His strength, His love, yes, His very presence to enable us to live like Him and for Him.
In light of this, does Jesus Christ live in you right now? This is a telling question in that if He does you know that your life is changed because of Him. If your life has not changed and you keep trying to change it because you know what a Christian is supposed to do, then you might not possess the Son. Remember, this was Jesus’ promise to His disciples. He was going to dwell in them. I know that when I surrendered my heart to the Lord Jesus Christ, confessed my sin to Him by faith, He indwelled me by grace and my life began a change that has continued to this day.
How about you? Is Christ in you?
The days seem to fly by. It is Wednesday already. Tonight we will gather, as usual, for prayer and Bible study. Men, only a few of us gather. Join us. Our Kids4Truth is going well, keep our children in your prayer for the foundation of their faith to be established. Mike is doing a great job with our youth and they are faithfully coming each week. Pray for our teens to seek and to serve Christ together.
No, I did not watch the debate last night. God had me serving others most of the evening. I think it was more profitable that way.
Have a great day in the Lord,
